Mediation (Facilitated Conversation) Services

when you need help to reach that agreement

Sometimes, despite one's best efforts, an agreement simply can't be reached with the other party on their own.

It’s natural to be tempted to escalate matters to litigation or arbitration. But these solutions can be very costly and time consuming. Not only that – the final verdict may not be something one wants but is something imposed by an arbitrator or judge.

Before resorting to those solutions, consider using mediation – a process where a neutral third party supports the parties party to reach an agreement, effectively communicate and begin the process of relationship repair.

Mediation (or "facilitated conversations" as it is now called) is a voluntary, confidential, less costly, and faster way of getting to an agreement.

At Resolution Pathways, we use the "understanding " approach taught and promoted by The Harvard Law School (Harvard Negotiation Institute).  Serving as a non-coercive neutral, our approach assists the parties to make decisions together based on their understanding of their own views, the other party's views, and the respective realities they face.

We believe that as the parties begin to make decisions together they can also more easily reach an agreement together that will serve them better than their alternatives.  In addition, our approach has the benefit of helping people to escape from their conflict trap and set them on a path to a more productive and positive relationship for the long-term.
